Fully vaccinated visitors must still show proof of vaccination for entry into Belize’s airport, land borders or sea ports

Belize has dropped its negative COVID-19 test requirement for fully vaccinated visitors, effective as of March 1, 2022.

While a negative test is no longer required for entry, fully vaccinated visitors must still show proof of vaccination for entry into Belize’s airport, land borders or sea ports.

Tourists arriving by air who are not fully vaccinated and unable to show proof of vaccination must present proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken within 72 hours of arrival, or a negative antigen rapid test taken within 48 hours of arrival.

For unvaccinated visitors arriving via land borders or sea ports, mandatory testing will be administered by the Ministry of Health. No test result taken prior to arrival will be accepted at the land borders or sea ports.

As of February 15, 2022, all visitors to Belize are required to apply for Belize Travel Health Insurance, a mandatory insurance that helps protect visitors against incurred medical and non-medical expenses if they test positive for COVID-19 during their stay in Belize. The cost of the policy is US$18 and provides coverage for up to $50,000 in medical expenses related to the treatment of COVID-19 for a period of 21 days. The policy can be purchased online in advance of arrival at belizetravelinsurance.com.
