Riviera Nayarit
The luxury, exclusivity, and service of the hotels in Mexico’s Pacific Treasure were a highlight of the 33rd annual poll published by Condé Nast Traveler

February 9 - Three Riviera Nayarit hotels have been included in the list of “The Best Resorts in Mexico: 2020 Readers’ Choice Awards,” published in the online edition of the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler magazine.

This year’s chosen hotels—picked from a total of 40 resorts located in the country’s top beach destinations—were: Villa del Palmar Flamingos, number 11 on the list; Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, at number 12; and Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, at number 30.

The results were tallied from a survey of more than 600,000 registered voters from around the world, who sent comments, opinions, and reviews about their travel experiences.

An air of nostalgia

According to Condé Nast Traveler, readers were heavily influenced by nostalgia, as travel was virtually on hiatus for the entire year. This meant the names in this year’s issue were ones that brought travelers comfort, that they connected with even after a lengthy period of time, and that helped them get through the months without travel. “While it is always an honor to be on this list, in this very different year it is a special honor.

As for the winning hotels, the article notes that while some are grand and dramatic, others are small, intimate, and out of the ordinary: “there are pool bars for strong drinks and miles of beachfront bliss, not to mention ‘all-inclusives,’ with nifty amenities like a personal butler service and an unlimited supply of fresh, fruity cocktails.

It is worth mentioning that last December Condé Nast Traveler included the Riviera Nayarit on the list of the “21 Best Places in the World to Travel in 2021,” in its U.S. and U.K. editions.
