Spirit Airlines has officially launched a new non-stop service between Boise and Las Vegas

Spirit Airlines has officially opened a new route between Bosie's Gowen Field and Las Vegas's Harry Reid Airport. The Inauguration ceremony became memorable when Spirit donated 20,000 dollars to a local non-profit. The announcement that Spirit would fly the route daily was met with pleasant remarks from all parties in attendance.

A new route

On Friday, August 5th, 2022, a ribbon was cut in Boise's Gowen Field airport marking the official inauguration of a Las Vegas, Nevada to Boise, Idaho route. The route will be operated daily aboard an Airbus A320neo. Both local officials and airline executives were thrilled about this latest development to connect two of the United States's fastest-growing cities. Many officials representing the local government and airline attended the ceremony.

One of the officials in attendance was the Boise Metro Chamber President and CEO Bill Connors. Connors stated regarding the new route,

"It's interesting to see over the last few years just how many airlines have realized Boise is the fastest growing city in the country, and they need to be here,"

"It's great to see Spirit here and yes, it's fun to have a connection to Las Vegas if you want to go to Vegas, but Vegas is also a major airport hub. So, you can get from Vegas to almost anywhere else in the world through this particular route."

Officials on the other end of the route were just as excited about the new offering from Spirit. The Vice President of Marketing for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, H. Fletch Brunelle, shared this enthusiasm in a statement to the airline. Brunelle stated,

"The addition of these new flights is extremely exciting as we welcome visitors to explore all that's new in the sports and entertainment capital of the world. From stunning new resorts and meeting spaces to spectacular new entertainment offerings and the most anticipated international sports special events, Las Vegas continues to flourish."

A charitable donation

Spirit donated 20,000 dollars to Global Gardens, a local non-profit organization, during the ceremony. Global Gardens revolves around supporting local immigrant and refugee farmers that come from diverse backgrounds. It provides over 100 garden spaces to be worked by these farmers. The charitable donation is not only a gesture of goodwill but also a sign of Spirit's commitment to being a part of the local community.

The Global Gardens Program Manager, Rabiou Manzo, thanked Spirit for the generous gift. In a statement, Manzo added,

"It creates a win-win by helping farmers take their careers to the next level while giving the local community more access to fresh produce. For almost 20 years Global Gardens has provided training and resources to refugee and immigrant farmers, allowing them to continue farming as they rebuild their lives here in the US Several of our farmers grow ethnic produce from their home countries that otherwise wouldn't be accessible to local buyers."

Spirit Airlines has opened a new route connecting Boise, Idaho, and Las Vegas, Nevada. In doing so, Spirit has committed itself not only to service the route but also to contributing to the community by offering a generous donation to a local non-profit. The route will be operated daily for the foreseeable future.
