Although some offerings have rolled out already, others will be introduced at the end of this month and early next month

Delta also implemented service enhancements seen on international flights for domestic routes in Delta One, the airline’s premium cabin. Additionally, premium passengers on most domestic flights can now pre-order their meals before departure.

A restaurant at cruising altitude

The US legacy airline announced the new service offerings on Tuesday, featuring a variety of premium beer, wine, spirits, non-dairy creamer, and regionally inspired meals, including beef short rib from Atlanta’s very own Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q. Kristen Manion Taylor, Delta’s Senior Vice President of In-Flight Service, spoke about the refreshed menu for Fall.

We want every dining experience on a Delta flight to feel exciting for our first-time flyers, our million milers and every customer in between. Our customers and the diverse communities we serve are the heart of everything we do at Delta, especially as we continue to develop inclusive menus and bring new partners and products on board.

Snacks and drinks

New complimentary snacks and beverages have been added to its ongoing rotational program, including a new flavor of SunChips and oat milk creamer, which will be offered onboard for the first time. The SunChips in Garden Salsa flavor are now available on flights over 251 miles. Lakeland Dairies oat milk creamer will be available on all domestic, short-haul international flights and all international flights departing from the US beginning September 26th. Delta said the new dairy-free option will be featured in addition to the half-and-half creamer that is already available.

A New AM Snack Basket will also be introduced at the end of the month, offering a mix of fan favorites, including Delta’s Biscoff cookies and flavorful new snacks such as Nature Valley Soft Baked Oatmeal Squares. The snack basket will be complimentary and will be available for Delta Comfort+ passengers on flights over 900 miles that depart between 5:00 and 09:45. It will also be offered in the first class cabin on flights between 251 and 1,499 miles that depart between 5:00 and 09:45.

Tequila is returning to Delta flights due to popular demand, according to the airline. This Fall, passengers can opt for Lunzaul Blanco Tequila. The distilled beverage features refreshing tropical and apple notes and is made with 100% Blue Weber Agave. It will be available in all cabins on all domestic and US-originating international flights. New Belgium Brewing’s Voodoo Ranger IPA will be rolled out on domestic flights as part of Delta’s rotational beer program in October.

Enhancing the premium experience

On Tuesday, the carrier added new appetizers to complement passenger’s entrees in Delta One. The airline also explained how the service will be enhanced on domestic flights.

Starting September 12, all Delta One coast-to-coast and flights to Hawaii will mirror the best-in-class service already available on international flights. This includes heated nuts (a customer favorite!), an expanded wine selection, a special appetizer, the option of dessert or a fruit and cheese plate and espresso service (on select aircraft) to round out the meal.

Some of the new dishes on select flights include:

  • Curried chicken salad with a Southern chess pie bar, Chantilly cream, and pie crust crumble
  • Beef short rib with creamy herb mashed potatoes, green beans, caramelized shallots and barbecue jus
  • Vegetarian mushroom ravioli with a red pepper butter sauce, wilted garlic spinach, artichoke, and marinated tomato and parmesan, served with a chocolate fondant cake and gooey fruit compote
  • Bibimbap with beef bulgogi and savory dried pollock soup with a refreshing octopus salad with sesame and lemon

Delta One and passengers in first class on most domestic flights now have the opportunity to select their main meal up to seven days before their flight. Additionally, exclusive regional or limited-selection meal options are offered to travelers in most domestic first class flights over 900 miles through pre-select only.

Other dishes and rollout dates are listed on the carrier’s website. The menu refresh comes from the help of customer feedback, which informs the airline how to provide an elevated experience.

Using historical data on meal preferences collected from thousands of flights, we’re able to track general trends and customer feedback to deliver an excellent dining experience that’s fresh, consistent and tailored to what customers are asking for,” the airline explained.
