Cancun airport had over 200 single-day operations over the weekend

August 4 - Cancun airport managing company Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR) reports more than 200 single-day operations over the weekend. The company says after four months, the Cancun International Airport has finally exceeded 200 operations in a single day.

 

On Saturday August 1, the airport reported 207 scheduled operations with 101 arrivals of which 57 were domestic and 44 international and 106 departures, of which 58 were national and 48 international. ASUR reports the international flights into Cancun included Atlanta, Baltimore, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Philadelphia, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Havana, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York, Port of Spain, Salt Lake City, Toronto and Montreal.

 

While the international airlines were Air Canada, Air Transat, American, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest, Spirit, Sun Country, United and West Jet.

 

On Friday July 31, the Cancun Hotel Association (including figures for Puerto Morelos and Isla Mujeres) reported an increased occupation rate. The association said that Cancun had reached 26.6 percent, while Puerto Morelos was at 24.8 percent and the Continental Zone of Isla Mujeres was at 26.2 percent.

 

They also added that 53 hotels totaling more than 11,800 hotel rooms, remain closed.
