Riviera Maya News
The company has added Costa Maya, Mahahual and Cozumel to their route to Roatán, Honduras aboard the MSC Seascape

Cruise company MSC has included Costa Maya, Mahahual and Cozumel on their new itinerary. The ships will depart from Galveston, Texas for a 7-night cruise that will stop at Quintana Roo destinations.

According to Governor Mara Lezama, the company has added Costa Maya, Mahahual and Cozumel to their route to Roatán, Honduras aboard the MSC Seascape.

Lezama says Quintana Roo’s tourist destinations for cruise ships confirm its leadership while its natural wealth and its historical and cultural attractions continue to attract more visitors.

“Through the New Agreement for the Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo we work 24/7 so that this tourism success is reflected in shared prosperity with new jobs and higher incomes for those who work in this sector,” she said.

The tourism potential in terms of cruises is reflected in the reception of around 1,500 ships and more than 5 million cruise passengers per year in the four terminals in Cozumel and Mahahual, according to an agreement with SEDETUR.

The new MSC Cruises itinerary from Galveston began sales in January for a November 9, 2025 cruise aboard the MSC Seascape, one of the newest and most sustainable ships in the company’s fleet.

Highlights of points to visit will include Costa Maya, Mexico, recognized as the home of the Chacchoben and Kohunlich Mayan ruins, as well as Cozumel, Mexico, recognized worldwide for its incredible diving excursions.

Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, MSC Cruises is one of two brands that make up the Cruise Division of MSC Group, the world’s leading privately owned transport and logistics conglomerate.
