Virgin Atlantic serves up a feast at 38,000 feet with a brand-new menu and pre-order option

Virgin Atlantic will be rolling out enhancements across its inflight food and beverage services to make flights an even more enjoyable experience - starting with the introduction of the all-new Spring/Summer menus across its network.

Deliciousness awaits

The new menu was introduced last week on April 1st and aims to offer a balance of British home-cooked comforts mixed with destination-inspired dishes. Chief Customer and Operating Officer at Virgin Atlantic, Corneel Koster, expressed enthusiasm for the change, saying,

"We’re incredibly pleased to announce an enhanced food and drinks service onboard, which brings a personalized, unique Virgin Atlantic experience for every one of our customers."

Plenty of deliciousness awaits passengers flying on Virgin Atlantic, such as Hot Smoked Salmon, Truffle Butter Breaded Chicken, Garlic Prawn Curry, Fig and Goat's Cheese Tart accompanied by a delicious Passion fruit and Chocolate Dome or a Warm Apple and Blackberry Crumble.

These are just a handful of options that passengers can expect onboard Virgin Atlantic, with additional options for Upper Class flyers that includes Garlic and Stir-Fried Oriental Chicken, Chicken Achari Curry, and Pork and Parmesan Meatballs. Dishes will be made available on selected routes.

Moreover, the food offering will be complemented by a refreshed Upper Class wine selection. Virgin Atlantic has secured a new wine merchant partner, Jeroboams, bringing in a unique Spring/Summer selection of cocktails for Upper Class.

Bringing back the early selections

From mid-April onwards, passengers traveling in Upper Class on outbound flights from the United Kingdom will also be given the option to pre-select their inflight meals between 72 and 24 hours of departure. This marks a resumption of a previous inflight offer that Koster hopes will further elevate the passenger experience, as he noted,

"Creating magical moments for our customers is what we do best; delighting them from the moment they step onboard to when they land at their destination. We are all about creating memorable moments for our customers and will continue to develop our inflight offer, while travel moves forward, and many more customers take to the sky once more.

Passengers flying on outbound flights from Belfast, Edinburgh, Heathrow, and Manchester will be invited to a pre-select platform to pick their menu choices. Virgin Atlantic expects the pre-select option to be made available to passengers flying in premium economy by the summer.

The resumption of pre-selected meals comes as Virgin Atlantic drives a deeper focus on becoming digital-first for frictionless travel. It is also allowing for the onboard changes to align with the removal of all remaining United Kingdom travel restrictions last month.

Makeover for the Mile High Tea

Virgin Atlantic is undoubtedly looking to impress, because the airline's iconic Mile High Tea was also given a makeover from April 1st - allowing for all passengers flying in Economy and Premium to enjoy warm scones and finger sandwiches.

That's not the end of such enhancements, as the introduction of a special delicious cake will also be made available in Economy soon. At the same time, a new duo mini patisserie will be available in Premium. As for those flying in Upper Class, Virgin Atlantic is offering burgers, superfood salads, crab cakes, and cream tea.

With brand-new menus and the resumption of the pre-ordering platform, Virgin Atlantic is definitely serving up a feast at 38,000 feet.
