This evening, Avelo Airlines will complete its 10,000th flight since its first departure 18 months ago — when Avelo became America’s first new airline in more than a decade. Avelo will celebrate the milestone flight between Chicago and New Haven, Connecticut by surprising every Customer aboard the Boeing 737 jetliner with a free roundtrip ticket.  

The landmark flight (Avelo Airlines Flight 422) is scheduled to depart Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) at 7:25 p.m. tonight. Avelo began flying between MDW and HVN last May. The flight, known as the “Pizza Express,” connects The Second City’s most convenient airport with Southern Connecticut’s most convenient airport. The two cities also lay claim to having America’s best pizza.
