New Orleans will honour past, present and future during its Tricentennial. From special exhibits and festivals to brand new attractions and hotels, there’s much to look forward to in 2018 and beyond.

 

The Historic New Orleans Collection (THNOC)
THNOC will have a year of special programming that includes the commemorative exhibit ‘New Orleans, the Founding Era’, on view through May 27, 2018.

 

New Orleans Culinary & Hospitality Institute (NOCHI)
The US$32 Million New Orleans Culinary & Hospitality Institute has officially broken ground and will open its doors in 2019. It will include five teaching kitchens, a beverage lab for wine and spirits programs and a retail café space.

 

Louis Armstrong new Orleans International Airport
It is is set to expand with a new terminal that’s currently under construction. Opening February 2019, it will include an additional five gates plus a 2,200-car parking garage.

 

City Hall
City Hall has announced riverfront redevelopment projects that will include 3.2 miles of continuous space from Spanish Plaza to Crescent Park. Set for completion by early 2020, the project will also include upgrades to the Canal Street Ferry Terminal and Moonwalk Park.

 

Hard Rock Hotels
Hard Rock Hotels New Orleans will make a smashing debut in spring 2019 with 350 guestrooms, four meeting spaces and two ballrooms.

 

Named One Od The Fastest Growing Price Celebrations In The U.S.
New Orleans Pride has nearly tripled in size since 2012. It takes place from June 8-10 and will include a New Orleans-style picnic, a Pride Brunch, and the Pride Parade through the French Quarter.

 

Gallery 600 Julia
Gallery 600 Julia is hosting a group show of Louisiana artists to celebrate the Tricentennial, featuring paintings that depict the city’s history. Opening reception will be on July 7, with the show running for one month.
