Tourism is gaining traction in this fascinating destination
Malawi is a perfect destination for adventurous travelers who thrive on discovering new destinations, it may just be what they’re looking for. Located in southeast Africa, Malawi is among the continent’s smallest countries but also one of its undiscovered treasures, with an exciting lineup of new tourism opportunities that will surely bring travelers to its doorstep.
The Majete Wildlife Reserve is now home to Malawi’s Big Five thanks to a private-public partnership with African Parks, while efforts to increase wildlife numbers in Liwonde National Park are also bearing fruit. Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve has been upgraded to include two upmarket lodges, while Kasungu National Park is in talks for a major refurbishment.
Reflecting the country’s dedication to hotel development and conservation, Robin Pope Safaris recently opened the brand new Kuthengo Camp in Liwonde National Park. Nestled on a large plain along the Shire River, the camp is home to four en-suite safari tents, each equipped with an outdoor shower, bathtub, double basins and much more!
Guests can expect game drives with frequent animal sightings and serene boating safaris, not to mention walking safaris, which Robin Pope is known for. The camp hosts a maximum of 10 guests, so the small team of guides can personalize adventures to give each guest the safari experience of their dreams.
